A 2.4 GHz gaming headset is a wireless headset that connects through its own dedicated USB receiver rather than through Bluetooth. This is the distinction that matters for gaming, and the frequency label alone does not explain it. A 2.4 GHz connection typically polls far more often than Bluetooth — often near 1000 Hz against roughly 125 Hz — and it runs on a dedicated channel instead of sharing a congested band with Wi-Fi, phones, and other peripherals. That combination, not the frequency itself, is why 2.4 GHz is the better choice for fast-paced games.
